I'm elijah and excited to work with you
I’m Elijah Wright-Jefferson, a Chicago-based artist born and raised on the South Side and a CPS alum.
For the past four years, I’ve documented events and stories for nonprofits, universities, and community-driven organizations. Relationships are at the core of my work—I believe strong images come from being present, engaged, and attentive within the spaces I document.
Beyond photography, I’ve had the opportunity to speak with and for these organizations about creativity, storytelling, and community. Looking ahead, I hope to continue growing work that not only documents moments, but helps shape conversations around the people, places, and experiences that matter most.

I believe that God created us to exist in his likeness and to create things on this earth. We all have different talents and abilities and to create & preserve memories is a true honor. I'm grateful I get to capture the lives of others because it's a reflection of the gift we all have to live through God
My faith is an integral part of my life and work. Though I didn’t grow up knowing about God, I believe He allowed me to have experiences that shaped the way I work now and the passion I share with others.
